Camping is always carried out from home and hence referred to as an outdoor activity that is carried out by moat of the people especially when they are free from work. Camping is however known as an outdoor activity mainly because it involves spending a couple of nights away from your home in a shelter mostly a tent. However, one can go for camping as an individual or even as a group with either the family members, friends or colleagues. In most cases, most of the people going for camping will actually move from various urban centers or other areas that are more developed to go to areas that have a natural environment like various natural features for example areas with forests, waters like rivers for the purposes of having much more fun and enjoyments.
In many cases, most of the people however tend to confuse between camping and some other recreational activities like picnicking or even day tripping. For camping to be regarded as camping, a minimum of one night has to be spent outdoors and hence differentiating it from day-tripping, picnicking, and other similarly short-term recreational activities. Camping more advantageous than most of the other recreation activities as it can be done and enjoyed through all the four seasons in a year. Camping is a general term and hence it is important to be aware of the many forms of camping.
One of the main types of camping is that is common among most of the people is the adventure camping. Adventure camping is also known as adventure racing or even as mountain biking mainly because it is practiced by those who race during the day and camp overnight. During the adventure camping, there are some special equipment that most of those who race use and hence most of these equipment include the micro-camping stove, sleeping bag as well as bivouac shelter.
The other type of camping is known as dry camping. Just as the word stets, dry camping involves spending several overnights in a place known as a dry camp where there is no adequate water. However, dry camping is mostly practiced in various arid areas or deserts often preferred due to the risk of flash floods and hence this forces the campers to carry their own water in and out of camp, which requires much more preparation.
Canoe camping is the other form of camping that is also practiced by most of the people in various parts of the world.
